Version: 2026-06-25 · Effective: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It describes uses of CiteLyra that are not permitted.
You must not use CiteLyra to:
- Violate academic integrity — submit generated drafts as your own original, unreviewed work where that breaches your institution's or a publisher's rules; fabricate research, data, or sources; or misrepresent authorship.
- Fabricate or impersonate — create fake studies, fake quotations, or content passed off as written by a real person without their involvement.
- Infringe rights — violate copyright, trademark, privacy, or confidentiality; submit others' personal or sensitive data without a lawful basis.
- Break the law — generate unlawful content, or use the service for fraud, harassment, hate, or anything illegal in your jurisdiction.
- Abuse the platform — attempt to bypass credit, rate, or cost limits; probe, scan, or attack the service; access other users' data or generation IDs; or use automated means to overload the system.
- Misuse outputs — present unverified citations or claims as verified facts, or imply the product guarantees accuracy or freedom from hallucination.
Enforcement
We may warn, suspend, or terminate accounts, and remove content, for violations, and may report unlawful activity to authorities. We may also apply rate limits, cost caps, and a global generation pause to protect the service.
Reporting
Report abuse or content concerns to [SUPPORT EMAIL]. For copyright complaints and takedown requests, contact [COPYRIGHT/LEGAL EMAIL] with enough detail to identify the work and the allegedly infringing material.
